Featuring Jesse Glenn of J. Glenn Modern Art

March 22, 2013

LISTEN with the audio player at the bottom of this post.

Four years ago I started attending the Lexington Art League’s annual exhibit and reverse auction fundraiser sponsored by Nancy Barron & Associates.   I now enjoy a few pieces of original art in my home.

This led me to being interested in meeting and talking with an artist about that creative world.

Well…I asked for it and I got it!

In this conversation, Jesse Glenn of J. Glenn Modern Art provided me with a primer on the creative process for his art in his studio in Berea, Kentucky. The motto for Berea is Where Arts Alive.  My interest in this world is more alive thanks to my time with Jesse.

We talk about his early start with drawing, what he is creating now and his interest in getting an Arts for All event developed. He also gives me  some advice for getting started exploring my creative side.

Some good advice:  Devote your heart to it.  Study.  Know artists or art lovers

In our conversation, Jesse is generous with mentioning a couple of his creative friends in Berea and events that we should consider attending.

And speaking of generosity, Jesse created a beautiful colorful piece of art as a gift to me. A picture of it is on the show’s facebook page. There is a tab at the top of this website that will take you to that page. Please consider “Liking” the page while you are there.

We recorded our conversation at the library in Berea, Kentucky.
